Re: [GrizHFMinimill] Thanks

Thanks, definitely not my field of interest, but interesting in and of itself anyway.  I'm an electronics type with a sideline of machining.

Good luck. Just for fun, here's my Facebook group. I build pre-war race cars.

From what I understood from the one reply, it was a question of "how easily" rather than "I can't".  Thanks for the info, though.

Thanks Harvey for you response. This Minimill Facebook group ( photo) is growing fast. Whoever stated you can't search group archives doesn't know how to use all the group features. I started a group on Facebook ( unrelated to this subject) six years ago. 4,200 'active' members representing 40 countries.

Several reasons:

1) I personally don't like facebook.  That explains why *I* am not there.

2) Facebook apparently has no way of searching the archives to find anything.  (others have said this)

3) the group was started on yahoo groups by the owner.  When Yahoo groups died (effectively, dumping all the archives and becoming only an email reflector), the owner had no desire to move the group, which would have cost him 200 dollars or more if going to groups.io.

4) I didn't want the group, and didn't want to spend the money to migrate the group.

5) there is a groups.io group for this topic, and I am a subscriber, but neither a moderator or an owner.

6) if  you can (and yahoo groups might show you the statistics) look at the posts per month and see how they declined.

Other people have asked (not for this group only) about moving to facebook.  I haven't seen very many responses that say that this is the most wonderful idea.

If there is a suitable group on facebook, I don't know.

If there's a suitable group on facebook, then I'd suggest joining it.  I don't know if anyone migrated the content from the yahoo group to facebook.  If they did, they never told me nor did they put it on the list.

Why not step out if the 1990's like all other groups and use Facebook?

I should point out (and I'm the former moderator (and still am....) of the group), that most of the files are gone, and the group activity is zero.  Feel free to ask me questions if you wish, and I'd suggest joining the (smaller) but perhaps more active group on groups..io.
