Nothing near five wavelengths is necessary! Considering that
you are dealing with commercial Plex plate the inevitable thickness
variations will add significant error. But you can certainly build a
comb manometer of serious accuracy for a modest cost! And leveling it
is a snap, you have a built in level in the manometer tubes! Bill
