Re: [GrizHFMinimill] Basic Anodizing Question

Hard anodizing does add to your overall part dimension 0.0015-0.0022".  If you have precise holes drilled and reamed, you will have to take that into consideration. Also, depending on the shop doing the work, they may have a minimum order size. Precision Plating in Tuscon goes by square foot total for the job, starting $65/ft. I have a number of scope rails and adapter staged totals to them

Be aware, 2024 and 7075 are more expensive to do, because of the copper content.

Hello

I have a simple anodizing questions. I have never had any of my pieces Anodized.

Does Anodizing add a standard thickness to a piece? Does it vary widely? is there some sort of standard?

What about price? Do you need to prep your work piece in some manner? Any information about the process would be helpful.

Thank you
