[GrizHFMinimill] Re: $50 mini-mill power feed

It will depend on the size gearmotor you use, mine unfortunately covers the end plate in any area I could get a sliding shaft through that would work. As for your idea, a 3/8 shaft is pretty beefy for the lightweight cam, probably get by with a 1/8" shaft, it takes very little force to engage. I'm also thought about cross drilling the x table to run a engaging shaft through to the front, where the ruler is mounted as long as I miss the ways.

The cap screw was turned down leaving a pin remaining.

If I go with 3/8 for the plate itself I'd have 3/4" to hold the actuating shaft in alignment which should be fine. That would seem simpler than machining a long bushing with a mounting flange and a really accurate bore and should work great. I have some extra ground 3/8 shaft from another project so it should move smoothly.
