[GrizHFMinimill] Re: Dog clutch for X2 Mill

See 'Grant's power feed' in photos.

This is a surplus 24v DC motor from Princess Auto. The hex hole for the output shaft onn thiscaught my eye. I milled the hex shaft from aluminum. It's threaded 1/4-20 on one end for a ball handle which is used to slide the shaft out to disengage the clutch, or vice versa. The other end is threaded 3/8-16 to attach one part of the dog. This part is a short steel tube internally threaded 3/8-16 one end, and a slot in the other end.I lock tited this to the hex shaft.

The shaft connecting to the mill is cross drilled to hold a short length of 3/16" brass rod. This brass rod couples the motor to the mill when the hex shaft is pushed to the right. When the hex shaft is pulled left, the motor is disconnected.
