[GrizHFMinimill] Re: static sounds coming from motor

Thanks Guys,
I found some time to remove the motor and run it off the machine. The noise is not coming from the motor and the spindle seems alright. After reassembly the sound returned. It must be the belt.
Your quick responses may eventually save someones machine from an expensive failure. Thanks
Alan

Sometimes people get little bits of who-knows-what on the top of the bearing the motor's shaft goes down into which might make some weird, high pitched noised. But, the earlier advice to check the rotator sounds good.

It seems to happen When he speed control is powered up but the motor is powered off.I always considered it leakage from the speed control.Other than that I have not had any problem with the mill in the 12 years I've had it.
