[GrizHFMinimill] static sounds coming from motor

This morning I started hearing noises from my mill. It sounds like an arc of electricity jumping across a spark plug. At first the sound was intermittent but has gradually become more consistant. I pulled the brushes and there is no sign of arcing there.

This sparking noise seems to be comong from the lower end of the motor. Has anyone here experienced this symptom and know of a repair fo it?
