Another good point that has not as yet been considered! What is the
effect of a cable running up from the head?

Karl, I would be curious to know if while potting the column it might
be possible to include a conduit that might carry (1) a cable, (2) a
strap, or (3) a cylinder of lead for the purposes of counterweighting
the head?
