Yup.
It all depends, also, on what you are selling.

Jobshops .. 50-120$ I guess.
Industrial engineer .. 100-200$
"Engineering manufacturing process", or IT consultant - 1-2000$ /day.

I have mostly done the consultant ... and the customers were mostly very
satisfied and wanted more.
A private consultant like me often sells results..
"No cure no pay".

The buyers are people with a problem, and heavy costs.
Often, losing 100-200k or more per month.

I am, and will be, always happy to help private individuals, and small
shops.
Get lots of referrals, make no money.
Often free.
Thats fine.

Its important they know the fees, and thus appreciate what they are getting.
I had a sign on my desk - seriously. In spanish.

I sell interruptions. 100€ each.
"Vendo interrupciones.
100 €"

Everyone got the message.

My personal stuff and tech support is similar.
1/10 the cost - pay up front, schedule a time.
200€ each call/hr. Call any time.
You choose.

In my experience, almost all the people as individuals are actually
nice, polite, and respect your time.
They just dont think, and notice, its very expensive time, if they
interrupt a profitable job.

When they do understand, they are very happy to email in advance, book a
time, and get results.
My experience is that almost everyone is nice, polite, and willing to help.
Many, often, ask for costs in advance.
Often, I tell them "free" if you go along.

My success rate is near 100% with this system.
No-one calls, as I dont use a cell any more.
For business, its answering service, who transfer you, after I got paid.
