When our daughter was a few years old, she was playing in the garden and found a particularly large caterpillar.  Being a "toddler" she was a little rough and clumsy when picking it up and the poor creature was squashed to a pulp in her clenched fist.

She came over to me, held out the mangled remains and said "Daddy-boy mend it!"

Congratulations on foiling the repair shops.
That's why I have my machines and tools; save lots of
money, learn new swear words, and gives me the  incentive
to drink good beer. When we can fix something most people
would just give up on, that makes my day!
