Re: [GrizHFMinimill] Beginner questions

Hi Troppo
I guess you are living in Australia,by saying G'day
not a common local introduction in the USA,normally it's "howdy"/.

If so, I do not see any mileage in buying tooling direct from the USA,due to freight costs, import duties customs delays etc.
Although I am sure LMS would serve you well, there is also Arc Euro or Amadeal in the UK if you are needing spares for the lathe.

I weekly Skype chat with Barry McDowel,he lives in NSW close to Sydney
He to has recently started a new venture into lathes after his retirement and you could find him a very useful contact as regards
local sourcing of tooling for your mini lathe. Also he is very much up to speed with what needs to be done,as regards
achieving goals.
His email address is.  scrolsawer61@gmail.com

I will alert him to possibly you will be contacting him.

Best regards
John
Spain
PS I always sign off with my country of abode,it helps with time zones etc.

G`day folks
I`m new to the site and to mills in general. I have recently bought a small benchtop mill and a lathe. I got the link to here from the 7x12 minilathe group.
I havent used my mill (been pretty crook lately) and was wondering what adjustments you guys would suggest before i start making chips?
Also what tooling would you recommend a newbie to get? I have a mill and thats about it.  I`m on a limited budget so ebay will be the way for me to go, do you have any sellers you can recomend?
Cheers all
Troppo
