Hi Troppo.
In a word no!
When I bought my hollow tilt column mill 15 or so years ago lack of rigidity had already been identified and researched and surprisingly the hollow column found to be a minor contributor
Top three were
dismantle and clean up castings, flat mating surfaces, re-assemble
Replace the circular "Belville" washer with a thich rectangular flat steel plate
Replace the soft Chinese fasteners with good quality High-tensile items
Filling the column also precludes the easy fitting of the now popular gas-spring and extended rack conversion/modification (once standard - such is progress!)

G`day guys
I read somewhere (could even have been here) that someone had filled the z axis collum with resin and filler materials. I can see how this would stiffen the collumn by turning it into a solid collumn rather than a thin walled extrusion. Is this a decent option or will this cause problems for me?
Cheers guys
Troppo
