Re: [GrizHFMinimill] T nuts

T nuts.
Normally referred as T Slot Nuts when in use with machine tables.
They are usually supplied to a standard size.
As you are in a metric country you might want to rethink what is on offer being "cheap".
3/8" I would assume refers to the thread being 3/6" x 16. and if you do not have the corresponding
studs buying "all thread" to make your own in that size may be difficult.
8 mm for your size of machine may be more preferable.
see link for standard sizes and measure your table slots.

Suggest you buy a complete set of clamps, jacks, tee nuts and studs.
They are not that expensive.

see link as an example, but they must be available in discount tool houses local to you.

Correct Imperial size for that one is 3/8x16 studs and nuts for a 7/16 T slot.  US price (new) is around $50 for a rather nice set and rack.

OK a real newbies question here.
With T nuts is the size measured across the top/narrow section of the nut or measured across the bottom/wide section?
I`ve been offered a 3/8 set cheap and i want to make sure it will be the right size. I cant get hold of them as they are with the friend of a friend in another state.
Cheers folks
