I have the belt drive conversion installed on my mill and due to an unrelated event, need to replace my spindle bearings. Not a problem, but I have a question.
Is there, to your knowledge, any reason to re-install the spindle drive gear or spacers on the spindle?
I'm thinking just the lower and upper bearing, then the pulley for the belt drive and the spindle nut (and bearing covers of course).
I've already removed the other gears, and as it's now belt drive the spindle gear serves no purpose that I can think of.
Any thoughts on this?
(I'm expecting my large table and solid column upgrade on the 16th, so this was a good time to get the bearing replacement done as well)
