Thanks for the warning on the iGaging cables. I have 3 of the remote reading scales mounted on my mill & have looked at the Touch DRO setup. I "know" Arduino and also have a 7" Android tablet. As an electrical engineer the rest doesn't pose much of a challenge. At some point I guess I will have to do this one.
My X and Y DROs are mounted in the same locations as yours, but I chose to mount the Z on the left side of the column. I had some spare holes resulting from my air spring upgrade and used them for the Z axis mount points. Oh, yeah, I also removed that pretty much useless Z axis pointer and ruler & that got me the rest of the way there. I'd hoped I could mount all my DROs without drilling/tapping any new ones but did manage to do it with just 2 additional holes. They are in the saddle (for the Y axis).
