I too am interested in doing this modification. Among other things, my particular machine has a table with non-parallel dovetails cut into it. the right side of the table is slightly thicker than the left side, which means that the table surface raises up slightly in reference to the saddle when moved from right to left. This makes cutting things exactly parallel rather annoying, as you might imagine. I've considered either face-milling the top of the table to correct for this, or taking the table completely off and cutting the dovetails on a larger mill to correct for this while also cleaning up the rather rough surface finish the table's dovetails usually come with to reduce friction. Instead, it might just make more sense to swap out to the larger table. Any input about the quality and finish of the large table would be useful to know.
