[GrizHFMinimill] Re: tripping circuit breakers

<<I unplugged everything that was on the kitchen line except the
refrigerator and the breaker tripped only when the mill was running. The
mill has been unplugged now for several hours and the kitchen breaker
has not tripped. Does anyone have any idea as to what might be happening? <<

Hi Den
If your breakers and mill are OK it could be that your fridge may be on
the way out and taking too much current, so that the combined load or
fridge and mill trips it
Does it happen only when the fridge motor starts up??? Motor current at
start up is much more than running current (and a fridge motor with a
faulty bearing will take even more at start up time.)
Borrow an Amp Probe (AC current meter with RMS read out) and hook it
round only one of the feed wires to the fridge, but not the ground wire,
preferably an amp probe with a current hold capability
Then you can get a good idea of the max current your fridge is taking
when the breaker trips and check that the combined mill plus fridge
currents is within your breaker current rating...seems that it isnt in
your case
If the currents are OK and withing the breaker current rating as
labelled then either the breaker is faulty or there is something else
on that phase which is on that you don't know about
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your not familiar with electric line wiring , get
someone who is to do it for you... this stuff can be VERY dangerous !
There is yet another check but this should be done ONLY by a licensed
and experienced electrician

Good luck
John
