On my mill, with the table fully to the rear, the center of the spindle is about .800 in front of the table.
With the table fully forward, the center of the spindle is even with the back of the table (although I'm not 100% certain the table can't come forward a bit more - it's a little tight yet as I need to do some adjustment)
I'm guessing mine is different because I have the solid column as well and they are designed to go together.
There is a break in procedure for the bearings I'm sure, probably similar to my lathe. I need to look that up and get it done.
