If you haven't, check all the plugs on both circuits with the little plug tester.

Are the GFIs in the distribution panel or in one of the outlets?  If in the panel, could be as simple as the neutral from the mill in the with the neutral of the kitchen, though almost anything should cause that to trip.  I don't know if the GFIs are as sensitive to extra current on the neutrals as they are to the normal ground fault. 

Easy to check, should have as many neutral wires as hot wires on the output of the GFI and the should go into the same feed line :-)

If the GFI is an outlet, make sure it's on a different breaker (turn it off at the Panel) as the mill.  If they are on the same, it's probably fixable, but you should also start with a new line for the shop.
