I've been playing with the idea of putting one of these on the tailstock of
my lathe. Has anyone ever tried to shorten a scale on one of these things?

It's a complete kit and seems like a good price for a 6" scale and single
remote readout. Will change from imperial to metric and can be zeroed for
relative movement of whichever axis it is fitted to.
If you fit only one readout to your mill the z axis would be the best due to
the dreaded head drop andrelatively poor z axis adjust,ment control.
An 8" scale would be better but a 6" at this price wouls be useful
