They make excellent servos motors with encoders.
Fitting the optical encoder well to a low TIR reading is important.
I made mine to about 0.01 mm TIR, with 10.000 count encoders.
They work very well for the price.
Excuse me, but don't treadmill/shaded pole magnet type motors turn
in only one direction?
