[GrizHFMinimill] Mini Mill Alignment...

John Pitkin,

I am in the process of aligning my minimill and I printed out your document to use as a guide. One thing that was not very clear was in regards to the shimming required to true up the column fore and aft. I am assuming that you meant to put the shims under the front edge of the column mounting plate where the three cap screws hold the column to the table. I was not clear and I could see where shims might be inserted along the edge of the contact point where the "big nut" holds the column to the base. I just wanted to check. You mentioned in your document that you were going to post some pictures of the process.... I am still a little fuzzy about the head casting to the column. I know there are four capscrews that bolt the two together but I and not sure how to proceed. Any advice/tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Harold
