Purrrfect! I looked in the attic and my scrap CPU fans are Intel special form factor. So, I did the two drops of oil and it's better than new. The 40mm fans are ubiquitously available on eBay for 2-4 dollars in case any of need one.

But, it's so easy and inexpensive to replace (I'm guessing) that I thought I might try a new one. Does anyone have any recommendations? Any info on any interesting specs would be great too -- size, bolt pattern, CFM if that really matters, and voltage (which I think is 12 based on other posts).
