I believe some of the US mini mills are fitted with feed screws that move the table 1/16" per revolution of the handwheel.
What a bind that is if you need to move the table a full 2 mm.or 3.5 mm.You are permanently working with a calculator
or even lets say Imperial 0.100".
LMS has a conversion kit for changing from 1/16" increments to metric.



So glad I work in metric,started out as an apprentice toolmaker 52 years ago in Imperial.
