ER 20 with a # 3 MT.
By going your way,reading your post,you are introducing another piece into the set.
Less stable.
Possibly you will need to buy piece of all stud 12 mm to replace your 3/8" x 16 drawbar.
The price is good,and you can even source the ER 20 collets from them.
But why ER 20 when you can fit the larger ER 32 set up,this gives you up to 20 mm dia holding capacity.
Suggest you buy metric collets as they overlap the Imperial standard sizes.
Imperials are normally in 1/16" (0.062") ranges where metric are 2-20 mm in increments of 1 mm (0.04").
You can already see the difference.
For example,you want to hold a dia of 0.59",the 9/16" is to small,the 5/8" is to large,without crushing down very hard on the collet,possibly causing distortion. but 15 mm collet is just right,said ("baby bear"). LOL
I buy direct from CTC tools on a regular basis.
Quality,price and shipping charges very reasonable.
It´s based in Hong Kong with a German manager and they have been around for many years,
but there is always a reluctance to purchase outside the US,don´t know why,as the parts you buy are
possibly sourced from outside the US,and likely to be Hong Kong/China.
