Jimmy - I think you ask a fair question young man (I'm 70).
I should let you know that I am speaking as a guy who likes technology (my professional background before retirement was Information Technology aka computers), just so you know that I am not coming at this as a guy who is opposed to change or learning new things. Having said that, I do not like Facebook and do not plan to have anything to do with it now or in the future. Further, all of my friends still working in the "computer biz" avoid it as well - that should tell you something.
I could spend a lot of time explaining why, but just do an Internet search on "why Facebook is bad".
P.S.
If you think you are anonymous on Facebook (even if you make your profile anonymous) then I think you would be surprised to learn how many ways that is not the case.
