I have not been active on this group for some time, but the information I got here when starting out was invaluable. Many, many thanks to both Harvey and Barry for their help, support and selfless contributions over the years. I still have posted in my shop the "Barry Young Speed Estimate" formula!

Hello Group:
In this group, Harvey is the outstanding Moderator that has been working hard to do all the day to day drudgery that is required to run a group. Since NOBODY else has done the right thing and stepped up to thank him, let me be the first. Thank you VERY much Harvey for your years of service and knowledge and your awesome attitude working with members. I am the creator and owner of this group and I help Harvey run things. Nobody else here can move the group.
I had considered moving and maintaining the group. Harvey and I have put 18 years of effort into building and running this group including settling arguments between members, booting members who were only here to argue, listening to the YouTube experts who had never actually run a machine tell us that the opinions of an actual career Machinist were wrong, writing endless responses to endless messages from new members, answering thousands of member questions, and being called every name in the book for the effort. Then I realized that the ONLY thing mentioned when Yahoo made their announcement and we had decided to close the group was how that decision would affect the members. There was no thank you for Harvey, Nothing, Nope, Not One Word. This self centered and ungrateful attitude is why this group is ending.
Thank you members, it has been an honor and a privilege serving you for 18 years. This will be my last posting on this group.
